The Flash Player by default ahs a context menu that pops up when you right click on the screen displaying "Settings" and an "About Adobe" link. Flash, in recent versions has allowed you to customize the context menu with additional links. The problem is the menu is limited in its skin and functionality.
The right click menu falls short of functionality when you want to have multiple submenus or unsupported languages or fonts in the Flash Player. What would be nice is to be able to customize the right click menu to look or do whatevet you want it to.
Now you can! This code disables the menu in Flash and allows you to have whatever you want as a replacement using a MovieClip or component. It currently the supports Mozilla engine and IE 6 on the Windows platform. It has been tested on Firefox 1.0, 1.5, IE 5 using both Flash 8 and 9 Players.
The solution I am providing requires the Flash 8 player because I am using Externalnterface. If you want to use it for an earlier version, you can tweak the code by using getURL. The next verion is aimed at supporting IE7 and some Macintosh browsers. Any help with these solutions would be welcomed!!!
