Wade Arnold

I want to thank everyone who submitted their name and some of the funny comments I received in the process. If were based on comments, there would be some clear winners! Which made me think that next time maybe I should have everyone submit a joke or something. Any way, congratulations to Wade. I look forward to seeing you at the conference. For all those that didn’t win, I will still encourage you to go to the conference. It will be an extrodinary one with so many things happening in the Flash world right now.

Cheers,

Rob

Build Flex and AS3 Projects in FlashDevelop Today!

Filed under: Announcements — Robert Taylor at 7:00 am on Monday, August 7, 2006

FlashDevelop is the authoring environment of choice for many Flash developers, including myself. And now it supports Flex and ActionScript 3 projects!. What does this mean? You don’t need Flex 2 or the Flash 9 preview to get familiar with AS3 or start building commercial Flash 9 player applications. FlashDevelop only works on the Windows platform as it is a .Net based application. It supports plug-ins that make this new feature possible. Best of all FD is free and open-source which means you can build plug-ins for it also that will meet your everyday needs. Though this is a plug-in, it has been officially announced that the new version of FD fully support AS3. For right now, this is all you need.
In order to get started using FD with AS3 go to the link below and follow the instructions! Happy coding!
